Welcome to Ruly!
A new world order begins today! Ruly, that is!  Ruly provides a centralized source of information on organizational techniques and tips as well as the motivation to convert ideas into action.
Ruly is not about âcleaning.â  It is not about routines, compulsive tidiness, labeling, or cataloguing every aspect of your life.  Ruly is about having control over the information and things in your life, making good decisions and striving for the real-world balance between chaos and fussiness.
Ruly is my journey in search of answers to questions about the role of order in our lives.  How did scrupulous cleanliness become the hallmark of a good household?  Why do we feel the need to apologize when we canât maintain these standards?  Do the demands of modern life require a reexamination of these standards or, conversely, is it more necessary than ever that we return to them?  How can we leverage knowledge learned in our professional lives in our personal lives and vice versa? How do we adapt the organizing lessons we have learned to apply to physical objects to the ever-increasing flow of digital information?
There is definite irony in my choice to create Ruly.  I have always struggled with organization.  When life gets busy, âclutterâ is a bit of an understatement when it comes to my household.  I am a wife, mother and businesswoman and, like many women, my âjobsâ occupy me 24-7.
However, there are also areas of my life where people marvel at the âorganizationâ I have exhibited, such as the ability to multitask, keep finances in order, tackle complex projects and sort overwhelming information into readily accessible categories.  I know there are areas of organization where I have room for improvement but there are also areas where I have lessons to share.  I think we all do.
I hope you will join me on this journey by following this blog and subscribing to my RSS feed and e-mail list.  (If you donât know what an RSS feed is, do not worry…more to come on this later.)  Please also view my YouTube channel for videos to supplement the concepts we are exploring. My exploration of these issues will be part serious and part fun.  I aim to post three times a week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. If there are topics you want to see addressed, please let me know.  I encourage your comments as well.
Finally, if you are in need of organizational services in the Washington, D.C. area, please contact me.
Thanks for reading and letâs get Ruly!
